What is the role of humans in humanity?

THE WORLD IS A FAR BETTER PLACE THAN SEEN ON TV

Become a better person everybody loves

By Daigo

I have a close circle apart from a public connection.

The public reach can be of thousands, but a few hundred are in the private circle.

We talk, read, watch and discuss.

Most of the time, the discussion revolves around politics, socio-political conditions, international relations, Art, History, literature, etc.

The “Group” consists of some of the elite people in the nation.

Ambassadors, Eminent Artists, Scientists and people who are thought leaders with extraordinary work in their fields.

Today’s discussion sprung from a conversation that happened in the group.

Conventional wisdom and reality.

Reality is a far better experience than the ideas of conventional wisdom.

The world that we see in the news, and the lifestyle that is promoted on the internet is faux.

We are forming our world views and ideas about people reading news.

From the constant bombarding of propaganda posts on the internet.

We are living in a highly polarised world.

Polarisation is instrumented on the basis of Religion, ethnicity, ideologies and beliefs.

The Internet has brought the world close to each other, but it would not be accurate to say that it has brought it together.

What countries read about each other is conflicts and the way countries are interacting with each other is creating conflict.

We are living in the news-induced ideas and ideals.

We are accessible to each other more than ever.

We are landing in the personal spaces of each other.

I have landed on your phone or computer with this article.

More than ever, Humans need to define their role in humanity.

I am not here to advocate any fancy ideas.

But some bits and pieces that make us more human, a better human.

A person who is joyful to be around.

You might not read the news about a little girl who just got a beautiful doll from her father.

But it doesn’t mean such stories do not exist.

The good news is that we have a choice.

We can choose to see this world from better lenses.

Better humans.

Thank You

Be grateful for this wonderful life that is gifted to us.

Every catastrophe reminds us of how valuable life on Earth is.

A Thank you in return for a smile or kind words can make people feel good about each other.

If the only prayer you ever say in your entire life is thank you, it will be enough. — Meister Eckhart

When you say thank you to someone, you not only appreciate the person but something beautiful happens.

Saying thank your brain releases dopamine and serotonin in the brain which are associated with happiness and pleasure.

Travel

Places described in the books exist only in the books.

If you want to meet real people visit real places.

I still miss my solo bike riding days.

I was on the road for one and a half years and saw places which I could not even imagine.

But more importantly, made so many friends that are still in touch with me.

I also met my zen master on this journey.

People are interesting.

It is interesting to see the possibility of living a life, which is different than what you are living currently.

Instead of finding answers to your questions in a self-help book, help yourself out of the door of your house.

Collect stories.

Enrich your life to be more humane.

Be Curious

Life exists more than the idea in our heads.

It is more curiosity than intelligence that has brought humankind to modernisation.

Be interested in things that are different.

Be genuinely curious about people that have different beliefs, sexual orientation or career than you.

Something might spark that can exhilarate your own personal growth.

Being curious sparks creativity and innovation.

It can be in service to fellow human beings.

Curious people are more empathetic and understanding, as they are open to different perspectives and are willing to learn from others

Hence, be more curious, not only for your own well-being but also to foster a genuine relationship with your community and this world.

Read

Do you know reading physically changes your brain?

Reading, especially fiction and spirituality creates new neural pathways in your brain to improve brain function.

This process, known as “embodied cognition,” activates various regions of the brain, improving neural connectivity.

Apart from being well-informed, reading is a workout for your mind.

Community

Be in a community.

Even if you are an introvert.

It impacts your well-being and health.

Studies have shown that people who are connected to a community tend to live longer.

The community is a hub of information.

Information that can be vital for your mental and physical growth.

Information that can foster a better structure for your social standing.

Social interactions are truly amazing aspects of human life.

Take advantage of this beautiful opportunity for collaboration, shared learning, and mutual support, creating an environment where individuals can thrive and achieve their goals.
