WHAT’S BETTER THAN iPAD?
This $2 toy changed my life completely
I write. A lot.
And to write you need ideas.
I do have an idea bank and a notebook where I jot down stuff.
But that is mostly prose and poems.
It goes to the collection of books I am compiling about sacred poetry.
Anyways, when it comes to writing for the blog it is a bit complex process.
You not only rely on inspiration but also ideation.
This means I write down almost 20 ideas on the paper every morning and select 2 of them.
One is posted here and another is on Reddit. Yes, I use Reddit as a blogging platform.
This process of ideation is fairly temporary.
I am generally not interested in going back to the list from time to time.
And if I like more than one idea in the list, I put it in the draft.
Said so, doing this exercise every day was a huge waste of paper.

Then I saw my nephew scribbling on his LCD pad.
It was interesting to see how you can scribble on it and erase everything with one click.
I ordered one for myself. It was just 2 bucks, but dude it made a significant change.

It has inspired and influenced many areas of the creative process.
It not only saved a hell lot of paper but brought flawlessness to my creative writing process.
Spontaneity
The LCD pad allowed spontaneity.
Writing on paper has some kind of conviction attached to it.
A sense of permanence in writing something important.
Like writings on the wall.
While writing on the pad is impermanent.
This awareness indicates the need to be right.
The spontaneity allows the creative ideas to flow without judgment.
I wouldn’t have written this blog if it was not ideated on the LCD pad.
A value found in an unexpected place.
Logic
Does this make any sense?
Am I sounding like crazy?
It is human nature to make sense of everything.
We might use emotions to justify our decisions, but we tend to introspect logic anyway.
It is human nature to find patterns in the chaos.
The pad encouraged me to throw all the chaos into writing and retrospect the points that logically appeal to the current emotions.
This is a very crucial process given that the mind is filled with millions of thoughts that are trying to manifest in writing in some way or another.
This toy helps to select very few of them.
The one which really matters to the audience.
Lose
When we were learning to write as a kid, we were taught to be stiff.
No no, not below the line, not outside the box!
This was often the case with art — colour within the lines.
We were taught to be correct and correct only.
But how would we learn, until and unless we make mistakes?
Mistakes give the opportunity to learn.
It gives us better problems to solve which leads to better solutions.
The scribble pad allowed the lose-ness.
To make an error, go above and below the line.
Focus
It’s not an iPad, it’s not a Kindle too.
It is just a scribble pad.
Only one feature and no distractions.
Just sit with it, and jot down whatever comes to your mind.
Have a look, save the best and delete.
The LCD pad might be just a toy, But it became a cause to express so many aspects of the creative process that we hidden in the dark corners of the mind.
Sometimes many of the complex problems have a simple solution.
The solution emerges when the complexity is vented out.
On the scribble pad.
