Law of Attraction

YOU HAVE ATTRACTED THIS MESSAGE?

Does it work? (A spiritual answer)

By Daigo

When I scroll through the feed of any social media or look at the magazine stands, it feels like I asked for this and it has appeared.

This is true for everything that is happening right now.

I asked for this.

The experience of writing these blogs.

The Luxury of time to spend all day on creating something worth the time.

My time and hopefully your time.

The help comes in the form of words in books, comments or any occasion.

There was a feeling of blessing when I found a book that speaks about Fashion and refers to McLuhan; to elements I would love to collide.

It was serendipity when one of LinkedIn’s top influencers wrote a paragraph in the comments for me when I asked for guidance on content strategy.

I don’t want to break the chain, I want to share this blessing.

So that you can share it too.

It would be too easy to say, “It is the law of attraction” and call it a day.

It can also be labelled as selective perception — “you see what you are focusing on.”

This can be true in a way if you believe it to be true but there is more to it.

The law of attraction is a buzzword.

When I was on my solo bike ride, I spent some months in the middle of the coffee garden near Coorg, India.

It was a remote area and rarely anyone visited the place due to lockdown.

Out of nowhere, a car stopped in front of the establishment where I was staying.

A man stepped out and asked me “Does the law of attraction work?”

As he was desperate for an answer, my response sounded something like this, in the spiritual sense.

Chants, Mantra and Affirmations

The law of attraction is promoted by writers like Louise Hey, Napoleon Hill and Andrew Carnegie as a technique to attract whatever you want in life.

If you have a burning desire, you will have it.

And there are many prescribed exercises to write it down and affirm every day.

Spiritually this is a very selfish approach.

Spirituality begins with the question of what you are willing to let go.

Hence, I also believe that praying is a selfish act if you pray to get something.

Oh god, please make the relationship happen!

Your chants are useless if you ask for something in return.

Affirmation is not different from chanting a Mantra.

Moreover, the burning desire is the root cause of suffering in the world.

You desire something and you don’t get it. The more you desire the more you suffer.

You curse the self-help books and self-sabotage.

You feel that you have done something wrong hence you didn’t get the thing you asked for.

In short, you blame it on Karma.

It didn’t work for you. But it has worked for many people.

How did it work?

What works?

Bulle Shah writes, ‘Ranjha Ranjha Kardi Ve Mein Appe Ranjha Hoi’

Heer has called Ranjha so many times that she has become Ranjha.

Meera was so much in devotion to Krishna, that she completely forgot about herself and she found only Krishna everywhere.

So much so that, she didn’t even have an urge to meet Krishna in material form.

When you are not it is.

The law of attraction is for the people who want to lose themself.

Who can recognise the boundaries of the ego mind and liberated mind?

A person who has no sense of self. Only consciousness.

When you become one with the universe, you are the universe.

You are everything in the universe.

When you think of the Lamborghini you are the Lamborghini.

When you ponder upon nothingness, you are nothingness.

Liberated Mind Seeks

A liberated mind is a mind free from desire.

Once you are realised, you no longer have the desire, but you surely have urges to fulfil something in existence.

You no longer linger between wants and needs but the divine operates using you as a medium to manifest things into existence.

Your job is to honour your true nature, rather than borrowed aspirations.

Rumi says; ‘What you are looking for, is looking for you.’

Liberate your mind and see truly what you were seeking.

The contentment of finding yourself is way more fruitful than the satisfaction of getting a materialistic thing.

When your mind is dissolved into superconsciousness, you no longer exist merely as a physical entity.

You transcend the boundaries of five sensory experiences.

The vast universe within plants an urge in you to create.

And you will start to see and get things that are needed to fulfil this urge.

An urge to vibrate as a medium to the frequency of the universe trying to materialise.

Not merely pleasurable, but a blissful urge.

It is not what you and your ego mind want to have that matters.

I want to leave you with this question — Will you find your true self and honour the urge of the divine OR lead a miserable life suffering from the pain of not getting what you love?

Meditate; who is the one in you thinking about the person who is thinking?
