CREATE WITH PASSION
Discard all the hindrances in your writing

Niche is a bondage.
A Hindrance to the flow of what you want to write in the present moment.
The content creation premise is conditioned to think in terms of niche, but it does not seem to be a need of an audience.
It is a form of social conditioning that is imposed by the “course economy” to create a product that can be sold to the creators.
A product we don’t need.
You might encounter questions in your mind, like;
Can I be successful without a Niche?
Will people be able to identify with me without a Niche?
Is my content outlet (blog) easy to remember without a Niche?
Answer is YES
The audience is interested in the person creating the content.
Content is an occasion to connect with the audience and Niche is invalid.
People remember you for your way of doing things.
If Apple starts a restaurant, you will know instantly that it is Apple.
You as a person are not about brand and niche. It is everything about the feeling people have reading your stuff.
Some people call it a brand but don’t take it otherwise.
Do not invent a frame and try to fit in yourself in it. Let your work find its boundaries and even transcend them.
Free yourself.
I was stuck with the context of niche for a very long.
I read books I shouldn’t have read, or I read them in the wrong way.
It felt like I would not be able to keep up and write consistently.
Moreover, I was swiping the ideas under mat, that didn’t fit the frame of the niche.
It took me years of struggle to reconcile with the idea of not having a Niche.
Once the notion was passed, I became unstoppable.
Now I am writing about fashion, Nature, Creativity and Spirituality.
And common aspect that abides by the multifaceted nature of my writings is the style and tone of voice.
It\’s worth taking note of some elements when I reflect on the efforts and failed attempts until I found a way to blog consistently.
I wouldn’t have written this blog today if I were stuck with the idea of Niche.
Letting go of it is wise and one of the most important decisions you might make as a writer, creator and artist.
Moreover, consider the following points to see for yourself.
Once understood you will have clarity and everything will fall in the right place.
Readers are friends
Don’t be transitional in your relationship with your readers.
Readers are your friends.
You don’t pick up your phone to call a friend and say; “Hey! today we are going to talk about beauty and fashion”
OR you don’t meet up with them in a bar to start a conversation with “Here are 10 conversation starters for a party with friends”
Do you get the idiocy of it?
Show up.
Show up every day and create what you want to show or tell your friends.
Connect in a meaningful way no matter what the subject is.
It will reflect what you stand for, regardless of the topic you are discussing.
Your honesty and clarity in the message will resonate with patrons, friends and lovers.
Niche is distraction
If you sit in front of your computer, and you are filled with ideas you should start writing them without concern about Niche.
Once you fall into the trap of filtering the ideas according to the Niche, you will not only lose the momentum of creating but also lose the motivation to write anything further.
I have made a promise to myself. I discard everything that is a hindrance to my well-being.
If my relationship with an undertaking becomes emotional baggage I discard it.
If ideas about spirituality become a hindrance to spirituality, I discard them.
Niche is the hindrance to the creative flow, discard it.
This is the very reason I don’t follow any religion, sect or lineage. I learn from all of them but keep what is aligned with my true nature.
Challenge and Solution
Let\’s be honest about this.
We are here to make money at some point. It might not be a primary goal, but we all have to earn enough to make this craft self-sustainable.
Some might also have a goal to be rich with content creation and there is nothing wrong with that.
Everybody has their preferences, but ultimately creators have to find out ways they can monetise their talent.
Many resort to newsletters, courses, merch, brand deals and whatnot. The possibilities are endless.
But often when we think of a product; something that can be offered to the audience, the message can be confusing with a blog without a Niche.
Moreover, you might also find in a situation where you have products appealing to more than one niche.
I love to create and someday I would love to collaborate with fashion brands to create collections.
Said so, I excessively write about spirituality and the possibility of a book cannot be denied.
These are two seemingly different ideas or Niches if you like.
How do I bring everyone on one page with the newsletter, social media and other means of communication?
I am doing this right now.
I am creating different publications where I will be posting about different areas of interest.
When it comes to newsletters, I am going to publish about specific topics on specific days.
So that the audience can expect when to receive what.
To give you an example I might compartmentalise the element of life and message as follows (I am loud thinking)
Fashion Friday — for styles and trends in fashion.
Sacred Sunday — Spiritual text is written for close circle and lovers.
Wild Wednesday — Stories about nature and wildlife.
Money site — Let the audience decide
Things you do and things you write about may change.
Keep an address on the internet which informs your friends and audience about the changes.
I know, having a website and managing it can be a daunting task.
But if you decide to blog on a stable platform like Medium, or make videos on YouTube; make sure to have a basic website which curates the outlets in one place.
If someone asks for a link or when you want to put something in the Instagram Bio use this link.
I use Daigo.tv as something more than Linkly and something less than a full-fledged website.
It’s helpful to create basic landing pages to inform the audience where else I can be found, or what product I have to offer.
I don’t blog there.
Let the audience decide which side of you they want to see or what essence they are looking for in the things that you do.
