It’s not about what you do to yourself, it’s about what you do for yourself

LOVE LIFE AND LIBERATION

The River of You: Writings from the Source Within

I wrote mostly about writing and the creative process in the beginning.

That was at the top of my mind.

Although writing was and is a spiritual experience.

It is only recently that I have come to acknowledge it.

My writing leans towards spirituality.

That is an integral part of everything I do.

That’s the foundation of what I do.

It speaks a lot about the hollowness of our existence.

An illusion like the castles in the sky.

The non-existent nature of everything makes it perfectly imperfect.

Spectacular.

Only to be watched, not judged, nor to participate in.

I am not prepared for life.

I live as it comes.

I don’t prepare my writings either; the writing flows from within.

I have a luxury.

To be no one and everyone at the same time.

I find comfort in the endless fall, without resistance to the thoughts.

These words are carved by time.

These writings are not the writings on the wall.

They are energy.

Which wanted to flow from me, using me as a medium.

It’s not about what I would have done.

It’s not about ifs and ands.

It is what it is.

Right here, right now. As it comes. Without mind, without me.

Direct.

From the source of dynamic expression, honouring the spirit within.

I want to keep it that way.

An immense flood of love oozes out of my being.

Who am I to stop it? How am I supposed to do it anyway?

Many come to bathe in this flood, many quench their thirst.

Some flow, some drown. Some wait on the banks, dry and thirsty.

Many realise their pretensions have been taken away, and curse me in dismay.

The wounded only return, bathe and heal in the river of love.

What have we done to ourselves? Where are we going with all of this?

Torn between being and completely disappearing, can we ever find trust?

Without any reason, without any conditions.

Can we acknowledge that this, whatever is happening right now, is temporary?

I want to love the man I love like there was never a yesterday, and tomorrow I’m never going to come.

I want to give the woman I love a shoulder to rest her thoughts on and be herself.

I want to be with you, for you. I want to be you.

Not because I can, but because I will.

Life as a physical experience is leading us towards mourning our deaths one day.

Life as a spiritual experience is leading us towards ourselves and the moment we live in.

I want these writings to be a reminder of you.

That is where I am going, and that is where I want you to go.

It’s not about what you do to yourself, it’s about what you do for yourself.

Enough of our life is spent away from the self. Running from the self.

The desires, the needs and the longing for contentment are real.

And everything about it is spiritual.

There is nothing in this world that would exist without you.

You are the one who is holding your world together.

You make these illusions real. You dream of illusions to be real, and you imagine some illusions to be real someday.

So it comes and so it may.

But in the middle of all this, there is an unmoving centre.

A centre which makes us equal.

A centre in you is the centre in me.

I want to meet you there.

There you are. There I am. There we are. Nothing is there. Only oneness is.

You are the one, as I am.

The world is not brought up to believe in oneness.

It’s all about “what I have and what you have?”.

We give away some part of us and call it kindness.

Is it ours that we give?

What belongs to you is what belongs to the world.

What is excluded from you if you are the universe within and without?

What is it that you give?

Do you give or do you receive?

The joy of giving, the happiness of sharing, is what we should aspire to live for.

Asking and getting gives you pleasure. Giving gives you joy.

Pleasure and Happiness are different.

Pleasure is limited to the five senses. It induces dopamine in the brain.

Dopamine wears off soon, and you crave more.

Giving induces serotonin in the brain; you need it. It’s healthy.

But when the veil between you and me, us and them, is lifted, the giver becomes the receiver.

You give a part of you to the part of you.

You receive a part of you from part of you.

I am no longer there.

Realisation of the truth is the death of the ego.

Labelling it charity can be deemed as the most selfish act.

Because as much as the person in front of you wants to receive, you too.

The exchange is a two-way street.

Once this is understood, there is neither giver nor taker.

There is no doer, only doing is.

The crux of life lies in the non-doing. In letting things happen of their own accord.

The nature of the body is a formless substance.

Particles are broken into molecules and atoms.

Atoms are broken into protons.

Protons broken disappear. What binds them?

Love.

Unknowing is to know all. Unseeing is seeing all.

Whole, as it is, as it will be.

It is not about persuading many things.

It is about being everything.

All things originate from the unfathomable emptiness.

A baby in the womb is in the state of Nirvana.

It cries at birth because it is born into the suffering of this world.

The rest of our life is meant to be spent in returning to the state of nirvana.

Thoughtlessness.

A state in which everything is taken care of without your participation.

You are not supposed to interfere with life.

Because life goes on, and your interference is only a symptom of ego.

You want it to go somewhere else.

The very key to contentment and satisfaction in life is Acceptance.

Acceptance of the world as it is.

Acceptance dissolves your conflict with the world.

It takes away the motive to fight with the world and change it.

Acceptance replaces the egoistic interference with divine interventions.

It allows you to live an intuitive life, rather than constantly searching for purpose and meaning.

Acceptance allows the being to accept the ever-changing nature of nature.

It is the first step you take towards forgiving yourself and the world.

It is a courageous step, as it involves stepping away from the ego.

The ego, which tends to control and cloud your decisions, loses its purpose when you accept and forgive.

Living a life with the ego is living life with yourself.

This acceptance and forgiving nature brings you home.

You find comfort in confronting your own emotions.

There is no one to stop you from doing it, not even yourself.

If you have no issues with the way you are, you have no issues with the way the world around you is.

You are in good company. In the company of yourself.

Once you have found yourself, you have found the world to be an illusion.

A perception you are holding.

The world exists only because you exist.

And when you disappear into a deep meditative void within, only the divine exists.

You are the divine source of everything.

If this is not the greatest discovery, then what?

Science is yet to catch up. Spirituality in general is yet to catch up.

Neither science nor spirituality has the words to express the inexpressable.

It is untouchable without any form or basis.

Nothing. Nirvana.

Nirvana means escape from the suffering of being alive.

Nirvana is the ultimate goal of human life.

A blossom that keeps blossoming.

A fruit that grows sweeter and sweeter, yet never sweet enough.

Everything that you need comes to you.

No more striving away from yourself, in search of what you thought you needed. What do you want?

You have paid the pretence of being at the feet of the divine.

You have spent the treasure of metal that looked like gold.

To find the core that never changes.

Giving up the pretence means giving up the will to live someone else’s life.

Giving up the shiny objects means giving up the lie called life.

You are. When you are alive, when you are dead. You are.

Detached from the happening of life and the outcome being death, you just are.

Before life and after death, you are.

Life is not about living. “I live the life”, screams doing.

Let life happen.

The body and the possessions, coming and going, are just an illusion.

Your existence is just a drop that is separated from the ocean of consciousness.

Your journey towards death is the journey to become one with the ocean.

That is the ultimate goal of being.

To realise that you are nothing more than a drop in the ocean.

Once one with the ocean, you are the ocean.

The purpose of life is not to take. But to give.

Give the light. Burn like the cotton wick, which burns the oil and not itself.

Life as an experience comes into existence and fades away.

The thoughts appear and disappear.

You remain.

Never be done with knowing who you are.

Live this life as a celebration of your being. Share your joy.

Life isn’t happening to you, you are happening to life.

The habitual tendencies as illusions of the mind.

It appears to be there, but nowhere to be found.

The sadness, the loneliness, and the sorrows of the world are immanent apparitions.

At the core, you are blissful.

Your existence is empty. Limitless expanse.

Your true nature is joy.

Never let the mind convince you otherwise.

Things are best left as they are.

The only change you want to see in the world is you.

To go beyond the fixation of saying “This and only this”.

More than what you have done for yourself and done to yourself, what matters most is being yourself.

The world might seem dark when you are the light.

Your work is not done until you see the light in yourself, in the world.

The reflection of the moon in the water is not the moon.

The reflection of yourself in the world is not you.

It is the reflection. Perceived to be true, but nowhere to be found.
