Navigating Resistance on the Spiritual Path with Honesty

Resistance, Resistance, Resistance!

The mind has so many ways to create resistance.

When I feel resistance, I always know that I am trying to hide something.

That, I am not being able to honest about something.

It is largely because of the spiritual nature of my writings.

Many practices are vowed to be kept secret, some are deliberately kept to myself.

Why?

Not everyone will relate to them, and not every reader requires them.

Moreover, it might add to complexities and convulsions of the mind of a reader.

I share it with some people in the close circle who I know have reached a stage in their meditation and spiritual practice.

I am not being biased here, nor do I want to underestimate you as a reader.

I respect you and hence state it with utmost clarity and honesty.

Some words are not to be tossed in public.

Mind is a trickster and it might set you into the illusion of having experiences.

I don’t want my experience of inexperience to be a hindrance in your path.

I don’t want you to learn things that are needed to be unlearned on the spiritual path.

It is difficult. It is easy. It depends on the mind.

These writings are public. They are individualistic too as every reader would draw his or her conclusion from the articles.

The intention here is not to be exclusive. I believe in inclusivity.

But I want this writing to inspire rather than setting “rigid how-to” guidelines.

Meet me someday and maybe I will share more intimate things. I will be honest I promise.

I want honesty to be an enabler of this relationship with you.

I also want to see how this translates to our physical world, out-of-window and the internet.

Said so, this is a good opportunity to explore the allegory of resistance and navigate the spiritual path with honesty.

A path that can open the secret doors without my help or intervention.

Nature of resistance

If given a choice to act or sit idle — I will always choose to act.

Sitting idle is resisting the ongoings of daily affairs.

To act is to operate in the world without resistance, being aligned to the unmoving centre of our being.

The energies that proliferate outward focus the attention inward. If you are aware.

This is the real practice.

Anybody can resort to music and dance to feel the trance.

If washing clothes and sweeping the floor is as meditative as sitting in Zazen, you have understood the true essence of spirituality.

Do you dance in the shower and sing like a superstar? I do!

We create resistance in our lives to escape the resistance created by the government and other organisations of the world.

Our resistance towards busy office work pushes us towards lethargic meditation practices.

It is nothing more than escaping from one polarity to another.

Don’t use meditation as a drug. Don’t try to negate one resistance with another.

Spirituality is to understand this swing in the mind and disengage from the mental chatter that goes on while you are doing anything throughout the day.

Spirituality is less about sitting in meditation and more about peeling the layers of conditioning of the mind.

Once the mind is naked, it reveals miracles.

It encompasses everything that is known and unknown to you.

You will have your secret.

Transparency

I am in the state I was born in. I die in the moment I am born.

I have nothing to hide, I have nothing to show either.

Whatever, needs to be seen is seen; whatever is not there is not seen.

Me not saying something and letting something flow through the dam is part and parcel of the creative and direct process of this writing.

There is no veil of You and I in this process, as “I” has disappeared and eventually “You” as the counterpart.

Transparency is the building block of any spiritual practice.

You have to be transparent with yourself and the world.

So that you can face yourself and the world as it is.

Your true nature will be revealed and you will be available to receive it.

Transparent.

You are crucial

I cannot utter a word or ink a sentence without you being there on the other side, reading this.

As much as I have the urge to write these writings on the Medium, you have asked for it too.

You hold the power to create something that is out of your physical sphere of influence.

Don’t you think there must be something within that knocking on the door?

You.

When you find yourself, your I will disappear too and you will find the mysteries and the unexplored universe within.

There is always a new horizon to be found.

You will find the aspects of this existence that are non-tangible and are difficult to share.

With yourself and with anybody.

We are all connected mysteriously. We are all one. But the path to discovering the truth is unique.

Walk your path and meet me there where nothing exists.

We will share our secrets in Silence.
