AUTHENTICITY MATTERS
Ways to find an audience for your voice

Authenticity is a decision not to sacrifice the message
I write from the sense of belonging in myself.
No matter where I am, or what I am doing, I belong to myself.
It is also true that I belong to this world.
Hence the jeopardy of the mind arises to appeal to the masses.
As an artist, writer and person.
But the urge to appeal subsided when I created something. I don’t create for you to like it. I don’t even create for you to change.
I create, to remind you of your unmoving centre.
Honest and Authentic.
I don’t like to dilute my message to fit in the frames of popularity, likability and share-ability.
It is for no one else but you. The person who is reading and who is capable of thinking what he/she is thinking.
In this market of cookies called world, someone has to sell medicine when you overeat the cookies.
Hence I don’t honour the need of the internet to write in certain ways in certain frames with certain boundaries of rules.
The Origin
When I set out on the journey to build an online presence, I was tired of reading the same stuff over and over again.
When I sought guidance I rarely found people who were saying something unique or adding to what has already been said.
All the blogs that are ranked on the first page of Google sound, look and feel the same.
Information can be delivered in a personal way. Yet the majority of the online space sounds like Wikipedia.
If you want to stand out, you have to be yourself.
It might not come as an easy step. Because you have to expose your vulnerabilities, hopes and fears in foot forward to be authentic.
Authenticity does not come from a place of authority.
It sprouts when you become courageous enough to ask for help and kind enough to share it with someone to learn from.
Authentic prevail when you speak to human like a human.
Everything for Everyone
You can’t keep everyone happy.
To please everyone, you end up reaching nobody.
A zest to be good books of others dilutes the message you are trying to communicate.
I mostly write about spirituality. But I don’t lean towards religion.
I have a message for a person who sees a possibility beyond religion and looks at spirituality as an occasion to celebrate life.
Not abandoning it.
There aren’t many people around me and on the internet who would believe in the same message.
I have seen people bonded to religion and cannot conceive an idea of spirituality without idolising god.
I have seen people who have denied the richness of life to sound spiritual.
A hermit who sold his apartment.
I can’t be appealing to these people. I can’t appeal to the negative connotations attached to spirituality.
For me, a robe is as spiritual as a Prada.
My grandfather used to say,
“Be frolic be accepting the gifts of life not by denying them.”
Well to come to the point. This message does not fit everybody\’s comprehension and worldview.
And I am okay about it. I am happy about the exclusiveness.
Self Belonging
To write, paint and speak is an artistic choice.
In the world of spiritual writing, there is nothing spiritual about anything.
At the same time, everything is spiritual in a holistic way.
You cannot speak about the silence without breaking the silence.
The silence is broken to convey the vibration and frequency that proliferate into thoughts and words arising from the very core of our being.
It\’s not about me and you, I and them.
When you belong to the self you belong to the world. You become your world.
You express as it comes. There are no barriers set by conditioning.
There is no pretentiousness.
You
Readers are not fools.
I spend most of the time of my day reading, writing, drawing and gardening.
It is obvious when you read something written to push an agenda.
It is also obvious to understand if the post is AI-generated.
Readers can sense the authenticity of the words, the person and personality who has touched the words.
A voice that is true to the self and a text generated by the AI is a betrayal of the audience.
You might get a read here and there, following for a while. But in the long run, it is going to hurt. Both the readers and the writers.
An authentic work has a transformative effect on the audience.
It inspires, encourages and helps transcend life to joy and happiness.
Well Being.
Engagement
When you have something to offer, engagement is bound to happen.
When you pour your heart and soul into your work, it finds a vacuum in the market to fill it with your message.
Everything that is born has a place. This birth does not occur according to the circumstances of the place of birth.
It happens, like a lotus blossoms in the mud. It then finds its place on the Buddha’s feet.
Let it happen rather than make it happen.
Do your job and be done with it. Share it where it is needed to be shared and you have done your part.
The audience steps in to relate and converse with your writing.
You and the reader transform in this process.
Engage.
