DITCH THE BORING
Stop sleepwalking
We have a glimpse of doubt but never trust our instincts.
I see people being sceptical about everything — but not questioning.
Even though the question arises, we seldom try to find out the answers.
Industrialisation gifted us with a routine.
We are sleeping and walking without being aware of it.
There are very simple questions to start with.
Does every culture have a habit of brushing teeth?
Does 100% of the adult population go to work?
Why do we go to work?
Why do we do what we do?
Certainly, there are people who think differently.
Some people don’t work at all.
While there are few working in a way and in an environment that is less stressful.
These questions can evoke an insight for the people who are stuck in the daily grind of 9to5.
Matrix of drudgery.
Can life be more than just a formality of occurrence?
Or we can leave a life that we have designed for ourselves?
Questioning can answer the questions.
There are so many questions that we ask ourselves and don’t really care to find the answers to.
What has happened to our curiosity?
Why are we so badly conditioned by the education system not to question the “status quo”?
We often delay the answers to our questions, because we are busy in the daily grind.
OR somewhere deep down fearful of the answer. Of the life which the answer might lead to.
Apparently, it can be a wonderful life. Adventurous.
This is a good time to pause and truly unleash the power of questioning.
New inputs = New outputs
Questioning in a formal set-up can help you give new insights.
It gives you the ability to look towards things from an unexplored perspective.
When a question arises in the mind, it is a good idea to note down every possible answer you might think of.
for example — Do I have to do the job that I hate?
Possible answers —
No. I can look for another job.
I can start a business, I always want to share my love for cookies with the world.
Maybe I can start building an online audience to earn a full-time income from it.
The list will go on and you will find some of the options you are more inclined towards.
Now once you have shortlisted the possible option you might have to change your situation, it is time to narrow it down with rational thinking.
If you are stuck between cookie business and online business for example.
Write these options down on paper and list of pros and cons.
The option that has more Pros is the winner.
Be mindful of this though, the outcome of this exercise is logical.
Your idealistic mind might have an urge to reject it or resist the change.
Ignore it!
Keep walking on the rational path and the ideology will follow anyway.
Emotions are functions
Emotion plays a vital role once you have a clear understanding of which direction you are heading in.
Emotions are clues to what is going on, and often a chance to do the questioning exercise.
Face what you are feeling by writing them on paper, with utmost honesty.
Accept those feelings because they are real.
When you are lost in the Matrix of this illusory world that seems real, you create a conflict rather than innovation.
Emotions can be a barometer to detect this conflict.
If you are feeling negative emotions, take your time to question yourself.
What is it that is creating conflict in me?
What are the things that I no longer need in life?
What has changed or has shaped me as something else than I expected?
How do I navigate this change?
Again the answers will help you to navigate the phenomenon of life with logical and critical thinking.
Don’t get lost in the world of ideologies. Reality becomes farfetched.
Live in the present, and there will be less baggage of emotions to carry.
You will stop delaying your progress with proper decision-making.
Your goals and priorities will align.
