TOMORROW IS GOOD, WHAT ABOUT TODAY?

Money-making activities for active income

Every businessman aspires for big in life.

Which is good. It is good to have big dreams.

It is stated in almost all the handbooks I have read on startups that do not strive for profits in the early years of the business.

I agree and disagree with this statement.

I agree because seeing cash flow in any business needs time. You have to build a product first in foot forward to make money.

I disagree because there are business that have collected a huge amount of capital from pre-launch on websites like Kickstarter and Indigogo.

What is my argument here? — You might ask.

In both cases, you need a lot of planning, execution and launch.

You don’t start today and make money tomorrow.

I was stuck with this question when a friend called me to ask “I need money tomorrow, what can I do to earn it?”

I appreciate the honesty in the question and willingness to work, instead of asking “Can you lend me some money?”

Every person and business has am immediate needs. To pay the vendor, to take care of the family and so on.

I have seen luxury enthusiasts and avid luxury consumers struggling with this issue.

They park their Lamborghini in the garage and ride a bicycle; rather than think about making a quick buck until the big check from the big idea arrives. (this idea is borrowed from the author of the book — Luxury Strategy, Jean-Noël Kapferer)

Where does this need of delaying success come from?

Procrastination? — Yes.

But a lot is written about it already, I don’t have anything new to add.

In short, get the f**k up and start doing the things that are needed to be done.

There is one more reason that a businessman delays his potential for earning immediately.

And that one thing is a lack of ideas.

Humans are dreamers, and we sometimes lose track of reality.

Eyes cannot see themselves.

And so was the problem with my friend. He is talented, able and confident.

All he needed was an idea. I presented him with a bouquet of these ideas.

Which I am sharing with you.

So here is the list of ideas that I came up with from personal experience.

These can help you earn an active income, even if you decide to start today.

(Pardon me if the rest of the writing sounds salesy and if it does not suit your taste, because I made money from the activities listed)

Consulting

I charged my friend to generate the ideas and guide him to execute them.

I consulted.

He is a good speaker and has worked with many educational institutions to recruit students.

He has a well-rounded knowledge about which career path one can choose based on his IQ and other inclinations.

He created a Flyer and circulated that on WhatsApp and Social Media.

Voila! Five customers booked time with him on the same day.

Moreover, he is now looking forward to turning this into a full-time business.

Take a Workshop

This idea came up when I was in session with my mentor.

I was actively looking for an opportunity to work in human connection.

We (You the reader and I the Writer) are connected via the internet. Which I appreciate.

But I like to be with people, this was the very reason I spent a year working for an NGO, met 8,000 youngsters and recruited 750 of them into various courses and jobs.

My mentor gave me the idea of doing a weekly workshop.

They can be any length 1 day, 2 days, 8 days, suit yourself.

Use your expertise to design a syllabus for your workshop that can deliver your knowledge to help someone.

The topic of the workshop can be anything, but to name a few — Creative thinking, How to start a blog, Marketing workshop for local business owners and so on.

The process of spreading the word is the same as consulting, but with a workshop with engages with the participant on a deeper level.

In my experience, people who connect with you in a workshop are more likely to become long-term customers.

Beyond that — you will find friends and well-wishers in them.

Sell a product

I know I know, I have already bragged about product building being a time-consuming activity. It is a long-term goal.

But what if the product is not yours?

Don’t worry I am not going to tell you about affiliate marketing.

How about Network Marketing instead? It has both long-term and short-term perks.

A month ago, my friend Jayesh introduced me to a wonderful business opportunity.

It is called Forever Living Business.

I want to be clear and blunt about it — it is an MLM company.

But I joined it because I loved the products, which are made from Aloe Vera.

These are the only products that suit my sensitive skin.

Anyways, how you can earn immediate money from this?

I will state my example again (I share what I experienced).

I joined the business and started attending product demos and training.

This is the norm for a network marketing business.

I was not only impressed by the level of professionalism and integrity this business operates with but was also able to identify some of the products.

Products which I thought I could sell today, right now.

Many of the people I know were in dire need of some of the products like — C9 for weight management and Elderly care combos for their parents.

Only sharing my experience with the people who were already in need of these products made my bucks with “retailing” the product which I have not made.

However, In the long term, I will keep earning from the team I build. This cash-reach company has been around for 45 years now.
