A successful businessman walks a thin line between quality time and managing the business. In this fast-paced world, there is a constant demand to be on the toes. In the world of opulence and success, an entrepreneur can find himself grasping for time. Balancing a thriving business, the pursuit of growth and success along with luxury can be a delicate daunting feat.

What if I tell you that you can enhance your productivity and also ensure that you relish every moment of your sumptuous lifestyle? It is possible, and I can say it with conviction because these tips come from my personal experience. I spend merely 4 hours a week on my business and spend a lot and a lot of time meditating, reading or going on a long twilight drive.

Embrace routines like a monk

Spiritual practice has been an integral part of my life for more than 20 years. One thing that I have learned from the endeavour is the value of rituals and routines. It is a powerful tool one can use for growing in any practice and walk of life. As human beings, we assimilate with the sense of rhythm. Routines add rhythms to life and invite harmony.

At the heart of the success story of any entrepreneur lies a well-crafted routine. Structure your routine like a device that works to prioritise and schedule work and leisure. I bet you will find yourself with more time to indulge in the finer things. Imagine flawlessly transitioning from your early morning workout to a sumptuous breakfast, all while staying in tune with your business affairs.

You don’t have to do everything yourself

You are not alone. Even if you have built your empire on your own, it is a sign of wisdom to acknowledge the fact that, many of the tasks you do yourself can be delegated. Just like in business, you can extend the practice of delegation in your personal life. It can feel weird at first but hire professionals who specialise in managing certain aspects of your lifestyle, such as a stylist for personal shopping, travel planer or household management. It is a better way to free up time to do what you really love.

No is the most powerful word in the English language

I get it, you want to be humble and nurture relationships. But the art of saying no is the most exquisite habit you can cultivate to save yourself from time and energy-sucking situations. Prioritise engagements that resonate with your goals and values. Graciously decline the indulgence that is bound to distract you from the core pursuit.

I want to give you a recent example from personal experience. I was approached by a political leader to work on his marketing campaign. I conveyed my “NO” at the first instinct. I know I don’t want to work on political campaigns, no matter how lucrative they sound. It does not assimilate my core pursuit of luxury marketing. But there is a proper way in which you have to convey this NO. It is called sandwich feedback. Sandwich your NO in positive terms, like “I really appreciate the opportunity you are providing, but currently I don’t have time and bandwidth to go ahead with the project, I hope you will find a person who can help you out with your project”. This achieves multiple things. Firstly, you say NO to the thing you don’t want in your life. Secondly, It sends a message of honesty. Moreover, it doesn’t spoil the relationship between the concerned parties.

Make technology your friend!

Technology can be an enabler of luxury living. Let me tell you another example of this. I have shifted most of my reading experience to a listening experience. I prefer audiobooks rather than physical copies. It saves time, as you can multitask while listening to the book and secondly, it is eco-friendly.

You can explore productivity apps, smart home solutions and virtual assistants that cater to your needs. Seamless integration of technology into daily tasks not only streamlines them but also adds a touch of sophistication to your routine.
