BEYOND BLACK AND WHITE
Embracing the World as an Extension of Yourself
The universe is mental. The world is judgemental.
We like to give verdicts — right, wrong, good, bad, ethical, unethical.
Black and White.
To save energy in understanding something, we take a shortcut to label it.
Call it a name and be done with it. This is an anti-life approach.
A desperate attempt to ignore the reality as a whole.
With the negatives, with the positives. It’s beauty and the ugliness that makes it complete.
Everything that has existence has a purpose.
When you are close to someone, you see all the flaws.
When you are in love with someone you see the lover’s wounds.
When you see the person in front of you as a reflection of your being, a part of your innocence in the current moment is revealed.
When you know that the world is part of you and you are not a part of the world, you keep your temper.
Acceptance.
I protest against the “self-help books” which proclaim to focus only on the positive aspects of life.
It is a juvenile attempt to encourage someone to take a baby step. Stumble.
Growing up is all about how you look at the larger picture.
Accept the good and the bad as part of the whole equation.
Openness to listen to what you need to hear and not what you want to.
Maturity is not about finding comfort in avoidance. It is ignorance.
The real challenge of life is to face the challenge and look it in the eye.
The world needs to see the greys in life to keep its temper.
Individuality makes us unique. It is amazing.
But the drop of water taken out of the ocean is still the ocean.
More vulnerable.
Together with the ocean, it can face the sun of knowledge with grace.
Separated it evaporates.
It has to take a long journey to become a cloud and pour somewhere, then again brought into the ocean.
We are an ocean. And the notion to be something other than that is keeping us in the vicious cycle of right and wrong.
Life and death, Life and death.
It does not require understanding to be one with everyone.
It needs love, compassion and awareness.
Understanding is segregating to your taste.
To love is to empathise with what already is.
Beliefs are cemented facts. If questioned it creates a conflict and anger.
Beliefs force you to bring people into your world.
When you understand that the beliefs can be replaced, you become part of the world.
Which is bigger than you and greater than the all-encompassing thoughts.
The space where the thought and belief linger is constant.
Step back. See the full picture.
Hate is nothing else, but love lost its path.
Temper is nothing but disappointment due to a childish belief that everyone should believe in what you believe.
Once you know you are wrong, you stop being wrong.
This is the tipping point for your mind. It liberates.
Mind is an instrument that can be used for and against itself.
We can think about what we are thinking.
And when we are aware of the polarities of the thoughts we understand that love and hate, right and wrong are two dimensions of the same energy.
Water is still water in the form of vapour or a cube of ice.
Become unfamiliar with the ideas and concepts. Anything absolute is dead.
Start seeing the world in a new light.
When the mind is liberated, what you see is you.
This life, the experience of life is a mere reflection of what you are.
It is not the wrongdoing of the person in front of you that makes you angry, but the subconscious belief that you are also capable of doing the wrong.
And great discomfort arises from this realisation.
You run away from it and it haunts you. You try not to face it but it’s there right in front of your eyes.
It makes you angry. Moreover, the lack of acceptance towards your flaws makes you angry about the world.
The world within, the world without.
The fact is, it is not the presence of anger that needs to be addressed, but the absence of compassion.
Towards yourself. So much so, that it flows through you to be shared with the world.
We have given the demons our face, we have given the god our face.
Take it back, it is yours.
Your identity is not about who you are, but what you are.
You can be a mother, father, boss and many things.
But what you are, is what I am, is what everybody is.
Give the love you always wanted, for loving others is loving yourself.
Accept the flaws of this perfectly imperfect world, as it is not angry at all, you are.
When you look outside, peep inside.
Instead of running from the worries, and discomfort lean into them.
You will find out that they don’t exist.
Be aware and search for the mind. The search will end in an endless search.
There is no mind.
When you are angry you are the anger. When you are happy you are the joy.
You are not the thinking you are the thought.
Let the thinking collapse on the thinking. Your being will emerge and flow like a fountain.
Same mass, but different forms. Same mind, different thoughts.
Give. And you will have more.
Open up and you will lose yourself to become everything and everyone.
Expand your consciousness beyond your body, speech and mind.
You are the universe.
People will point towards the stars in you, but they will hardly comprehend the vastness of your being.
The anger, the joy, the bliss and all the emotions are stars in your galaxies.
Only one star is not the world. It seems so when you are focused only on the emotion.
The best way to live life is to lose sight of the emotion.
Hold it for a while if you like. Meditate. Acknowledge. Be grateful for the opportunity to release it.
Holding it forever creates grudges and convolutions in life.
Life is not a reminder of anger. Life is not the anchor in the harbour of grudges.
Life is change.
Anything that changes stays alive.
Anything that adopts evolves.
Growth lies in giving up the idea of living. Lose your mind, keep your temper.
The universe is mental.
And only logical contemplation is a threat.
As it limits your action within the boundaries of your beliefs.
The danger of losing the opportunity to walk on the unbeaten paths only because it does not fit certain sets of beliefs.
Now when something or someone creates anger in you, it is an opportunity to introspect the anger trapped in you.
Release it.
When you see joy in someone else’s life that makes you stop and look at it.
Release it too.
Life is not about stopping. It is about moving ahead.
It is not about the steps, but the person who is taking the steps.
Life is not about happiness, it is about bliss.
Happiness is a feeling, it is stimulated.
Bliss is the energy. It is what you are and accepting as you are.
Keep changing and your world will change on your accord.
Life is lived to its fullest when you are not feet are not obstructed in the mud of ideas.
Set yourself free and only you can do it.
Be happy as only you can decide to be happy.
Forgive with an open heart, as the grudge haunts you and not the person you are angry with.
Be yourself, as no one else can be as unique and as beautiful as you are.
And the grace is awareness that you are one with everyone in the universe within
Let this understanding be a reflection of your being, in service to the people.
The people you face are your face. Look at it as you look in the mirror.
The innocence in someone’s eyes is your innocence.
