JUMP OFF THE CLIFF OF SECURITY
Take risks without being afraid of failing
I got a call from my friend saying, “I want to try abstract art as a hobby.”
I was thrilled to hear it.
I am fond of my friend, and I wish he had jumped off the cliff of security.
Explore the uncertainty this world has to offer and embrace the change.
It was also a reflection of my calling. Was this call a sign?
Everybody is an artist.
Some have yet to discover their potential, some have embraced it, and some have become rebels.
The artist is a person at any work doing things in a way never done before.
I agree that there is nothing new in this world.
Everything that has a name exists.
But what you do can only be done by you. Your footprint matters.
That is the purpose of being alive.
The spontaneous being is the very purpose you were brought into this world.
Your activity is unique to you, and it has a place.
It takes courage to live your own life.
You have to be an artist to discard the societal voices of what a person should be.
A rebel with a radical approach to the simple things in life.
No matter how silly you look at the beginning, no matter how hard you fail at it. Dare!
Dare to be an artist.
Living someone else\’s life is like throwing the darkness into the darkness.
To live to your purpose is to burn a candle in the dark and share the light.
Spread the light on the enchanted corners of your soul, and keep them open for everyone to see.
My friend gave up even before he started.
It is difficult, he said.
I am to some degree a culprit for his premature ejaculation.
I introduced him to a ton of art forms and artists while he was starting.
All the artists paralysed him.
Kandinsky is not the greatest artist if he fails to inspire you to be an artist.
Mona Lisa is not “The” greatest painting in the world. She mocks you for being imperfect and puts a pause on your paintbrush.
Comparison brings discrimination towards yourself.
Striving to be perfect brings a halt to your undertaking.
Even if it is a hobby.
It is disheartening to see how we are attached to the outcome even before starting.
How will we achieve greatness if all we do is live in borrowed aspirations?
We need to break the chains. We need to set ourselves free from our bondage.
We need to reconcile with our true nature and complement ourselves.
No one else will do it for you.
Because it is a mysterious realm of your being.
It is unknown to you, and expecting others to know it doesn’t seem logical.
But if you want to achieve excellence, you have to take the uncharted path.
Go where no one has gone before.
There is a significant question we can ask as a patron of life.
Can we push the boundaries beyond the tangible and known aspects of life?
Yes, it makes an artist a criminal, as he will break the rules.
Rules are nothing but cemented beliefs.
Beliefs can be changed and replaced.
Breaking the rule and shining in the new light is what makes you irreplaceable.
Artists, like any other human, are born and they die.
Great artists are born, they contribute,e and they die.
You will achieve greatness.
In the process, you will end up in a space where only you can linger.
Do not feel envious of someone else’s art.
It is far better to love and hate your art on your terms.
By doing so, you will not only participate but also contribute.
And this contribution is the very question we ask about life and life.
The contemplation.
A weight on the shoulders of the mind that makes it sink into the ocean of thoughts and disappear.
It seems like it appeared, but it was never there when we set out to go find it.
Do it. To find the mind. And let me know if you find it.
If there is no mind, where would the fear find solace? Nowhere.
Be furious.
Become the fear and use it to your advantage.
Everybody is born an artist. And art is born out of fear.
Fear that arises from the uncertainties of human life.
Fear of being in a space where even you don’t exist.
Fear of being the only one to express what you are expressing.
Fear of deluded thoughts, that your audience should understand you.
Dali would not have painted his dreams if he had allowed other people to steal his dreams.
He dreamed, and he was honest to paint his dreams.
Even if no one can completely understand and comprehend it.
Even he.
Art is the retrospection of the world you see.
More than that, art is an introspection of what you feel about the world you see.
Dare to be an artist. Even if you are not an artist.
Dare to be an artist in every aspect of your life.
There is a way to find out how you do things differently from the rest of the world.
And the way is to do things differently.
Knowingly unknowingly. Consciously unconsciously.
Make a deliberate attempt to be unconventional.
Be unconventional in everything you do.
What you will find is what you do best.
It can be your writing, drawing or even washing dishes.
If my house staff is on leave, I make a deliberate attempt to arrange the dishes on the rack.
I also place the vessels in a very unconventional way.
It is an exercise for the brain. It is an exercise to find yourself in the chaos of the world around you.
As the true being is not found in the predictability.
It reveals itself in the gaps and cracks in the conceived reality.
Break the patterns with dynamic attempts to disrupt the habits of the mind.
Let the castle in the sky collapse onto itself.
The only being prevails when the artist has finally found his art.
Everything will be taken away from him.
His worries, anxiety, jealousy and fear.
Because the root of everything will be taken away from him. His identity.
When the identity and false notions of being someone are dropped, only being prevailed.
Nature.
And it is the nature of nature to grow.
Nothing will stop you, as no one will be left to stop you.
Unstoppable, you will destroy, create.
Arrange and rearrange.
The art is to adapt and evolve.
Was the call from my friend a calling?
Yes indeed.
I am not sure if he will pick up the brush. I wish he would.
But I am not going to stop punching my keyboard.
From where I see things, there is nothing existentially significant about my writings or work.
What makes it significant is the process.
I am the words I type. I am not.
I spontaneously burst out on the screen.
I don’t care what I am writing, and I am not judging it from my or anybody else’s lenses.
Everything is constantly changing.
So am I, and so is my writing.
These words would mean something else for someone else.
They will even change their course of meaning and reasoning if I reread them sometime in the future.
But that doesn’t mean it should not exist.
It should be as I do.
The change is a symptom of being alive. And the expression is the symptom of being.
I am free to contradict, to question myself and everything that exists.
I am free from the beliefs that anchor us to the past.
History is history, it is only valid if you try to apply it to the current situation.
It is a fictitious version of something that happened in the past.
Right now, right in this moment, nothing is happening.
It is okay not to know what’s going on with the world. It is an illusion indeed.
You are, I am. Let’s just be and dare to be an artist.
If something in these words echoed within you,
and you’re seeking clarity, peace, or deeper connection,
I offer Tarot Readings as sacred moments of reflection.
Not to predict the future, but to realign with your own knowing.
When you’re ready, you’ll know.
