INFORMATION IS THE HOTTEST COMMODITY IN THE MARKET
Navigating with your true voice and core message

I read five books a week. What I am reading depends on what I am up to.
As I have taken this task of writing on Medium, I have been reading about writing a lot recently.
I took on a challenge to write about fashion as suggested in a writing book to explore topics and the possibility of writing other than your genre.
It led to reading more books, this time about fashion psychology and journalism.
There is a lot of information in the Books and the Internet. Information is the hottest commodity in the market.
It challenges your current practices, processes and the way you do things.
It is good and it is bad.
Good because you get a lot of exposure, and understand the approaches towards the craft, which will not only make it easy on you but also your readers.
This is the primary reason I read about what I am dealing with.
Hence, it is applicable not only for writing but also for other aspects of creative endeavour such as; business, art or fashion.
I might have a complex experience that is burning me out to manifest.
However, a good knowledge of the craft simplifies and channels the message to be more understandable and acceptable.
I wouldn’t have cared less if I was writing for myself.
But when I wake up to write something online, you are the counterpart of the equation.
The writer and reader together form an experience of learning that is reciprocal.
But there is a pitfall in consuming information if you are not aware.
Both, as a writer and a reader.
For a writer to compose an article and for the reader to compose a thought based on the article.
The risk of losing your voice amid the scattered nature of information.
We think that we need something grand to start with and it should encompass all that we have learned.
That is rarely the case.
In unawareness, you fill your mind with all sorts of things which leads to paralysis by analysis.
It is conflicting — You have to learn in foot forward to hone your craft, You have to unlearn in pursuit of staying true to your voice.
How can one create and keep growing, delving deeper into the creative endeavour while learning new things to be relevant and fresh?
That stays, what is yours
You eat, digest and excrete.
You read, digest and excrete.
Read, watch, observe and learn with an open mind.
Take in the wonderful healthy information that is put out for you in the world by great thinkers and experts in the field.
Sit with it for a while. And Let Go!
To store the stagnant resources of the mind is the work of the Ego.
A mind that is liberated drinks from the stream of consciousness.
Let your information submerge in this stream, and it will return to you when needed at the moment as knowledge.
Don’t possessively overthink about implementing everything you know.
What is yours will stay. What matters the most will be revealed.
What is needed from you for the world, will be revealed in the right time and right way.
Information and knowledge
Information is the can of paint and knowledge is the paint on the wall.
Not applying poses a risk of keeping information only information without getting a chance to convert it into knowledge.
The goal of consuming the information must not be merely to gather it.
It is a form of energy that will keep you charged until you discharge it.
It is worthless if you fail to apply what you can and will.
Make incremental progress, with the information you learn.
In this process, you will find what works for you and what you want to discard.
What you retain, is aligned with your nature.
You repeat, every time in a different way
Repetition is a meditative act.
As you grow in your craft you find ways to deliver your message in a manner that was unexplored by you.
You find the relations of your core with different aspects of life and effective ways to express and promote it.
There is nothing new to be said in the world, only different ways.
There is nothing new to be heard in the world, only in your unique voice.
Nonetheless, people need to hear your voice. Your voice matters because it is a reminder of something significant that would have been missed otherwise.
A voice that has an existence, so it does have a space in existence.
Art always has an audience, you are a medium to connect your art with your audience.
Never give up on it.
Someday, the gallery of your artwork will have the patron it deserves.
And the need to see the art will be as strong as the need to be seen.
Reciprocal.
