Transcending Thoughts: A Journey into Liberation of Mind

UNBORN STATE OF MIND

How to have an empty mind?

By Daigo

A mind explodes helplessly. Proliferating thoughts.

Thoughts are dynamic energies of the mind. Energies you cannot skip but transcend.

Many “Gurus” advise the seeker to suppress the thoughts. Having thought, and having a mind is deemed unspiritual.

They also claim that they don’t have thoughts or even a mind.

“Cursed are those who have the ocean and only express a drop”

Well, it is true that it is possible and very goal of meditation to reach a state of thoughtlessness.

It is also true that you have to dissolve the ego mind in spirituality.

But it is crucial to understand that suppression is not the way.

Then how do these enlightened people speak without a thought, or even lift their fingers without a mind?

When you become an empty vessel, the vessel is filled with divinity.

The goal of spirituality and meditation is not only to keep the vessel empty but also to break it!

But it doesn’t mean you have to deny your own thoughts or feel bad about having them.

There is a process to it, and like anything else, it needs time. (With some exceptional cases)

Every thought that arises is an opportunity to practice your meditation.

Like the castle in the sky, it will disappear on its own.

You don’t have to fight it. Your boxing match with the thoughts will create more thoughts.

Those thoughts will give birth to even more—a compound effect.

Then how does one become thoughtless?

By not fighting the thoughts.

Let them arise, be watchful about them and let them subside independently.

Like steam evaporates.

These steps will ensure an idea about how to deal with the thoughts on a spiritual path.

Moreover, it speaks to the modern man with new complexities of modern life.

Don’t suppress

Be. Don’t try to be.

Accept yourself as you are, with the thoughts you have.

Acceptance is the first step towards change.

Until and unless you don’t accept that you have thoughts you will not go beyond them.

Be aware of your thoughts.

Label them if you need to without being judgemental.

For instance, if a thought about violence arises, say violence to yourself and let it go.

Labelling is very crucial and often underestimated and discouraged in spiritual practices.

I have borrowed it from psychotherapy and it works wonders, especially with the negative thought.

I have seen people come out of destructive tendencies using this practice.

The key is “do not be judgemental”.

Don’t be hard on yourself, the goal is to care for yourself and your well-being.

Settle into the thoughts

Like a cat staring at a mouse, stare into the thoughts.

Towards the source from where they arise.

When the thought arises settle down with them to understand that they are nothing more than energies.

Temporary, waves on the vast ocean.

The more and more you become watchful about this process, the more and more you will have fewer thoughts.

Gradually you will start emptying your mind.

The watchfulness will acknowledge into understand that thoughts are nothing more than energies of the source.

Arising from the core of superconsciousness, we attach meaning to them.

The labelling practice is exactly for the same reason. To acknowledge that you are labelling. To make you conscious about the process of labelling.

You don’t do what you do anymore.

If you want to break a habit, do it deliberately. It disappears on its own.

Settling with thoughts you will understand the allegory of your mind.

The polarities of the habitual tendency, while you label something as good or bad.

Once watched it goes away, and gives birth to the realisation that the mind is unborn.

Go beyond Enlightenment

When the empty vessel of the mind is broken, it disappears.

Science is coming close to understanding this phenomenon of energies.

A molecule is broken down into atoms and atoms broken down into protons.

If the protons are not given a chance to interact with each other, they disappear.

Like they were never born.

Said so, the goal of enlightenment is to go beyond enlightenment.

Once your ego mind is dissolved, the polarities of the mind are transcended with the realisation that; remains empty.

Don’t react, to the thoughts, to the mind, the emptiness.

This is the most beautiful thing that can happen to you. Stay in the unmoving centre without wavering.

Let the incomprehensible divine power do the things using you as a medium.

Once the mind is liberated there is no looking back. When you are not there it is.

And it will play with the life like the moon with the ocean.

Playfulness that percolates in everything you do.

With a puff of smoke, a sip of tea and the fingers typing the word on the screen; everything becomes sacred.
