Why being a digital nomad is a spiritual experience?

UNCERTAINTIES BRINGING YOU TO UNMOVING CIRCLE

Learnings from the one-and-a-half-year-long solo bike ride.

We are conditioned. To constantly push ourselves against our nature.

Human bodies are not made for farming.

Lifting buckets of water and working in the fields.

But we started agriculture anyway and it paved the path to our civilisation.

Only monastics wandered, and they had stories to tell.

Everybody else had an idea that “we should settle”.

In the modern world, the product comes where you are.

And the boundaries between monastic and layman are diminishing.

Physically, mentally and spiritually.

Hence trends like work-ation, work from home and Digital Nomads are emerging.

I love the idea of working remotely.

I have lived such a life.

A new place every day, new emotion every day, new road every day.

Nomad life is disrupting the human need to be stuck in one place, one town, same office.

It will play a vital role in human migration.

It will shape culture and change the perspective of many human beings.

Mankind has always believed in discoveries.

He has always been keen and curious about new things and possibilities.

Moreover, as he embarks on the external journey to see what could happen to the human condition in different situations, he also peeps within.

To find the non-tangible answers and mysteries of the inner vastness that explain the nature of space.

Nothingness.

How can nomad life or being a digital nomad make you more spiritual?

Impermanence

Our spatial environment affects our emotional being.

A walk in the garden or a short trip to a hill station makes a subtle difference in our lives.

The place is connected to the mind and emotions.

Changing places often cultivates the taste for beauty in impermanence.

The way you experience things changes.

When I was on my solo bike ride for one and a half years, every place I visited felt different.

I absorbed the vibes of all the places very quickly. That too with a sense of detachment.

Because I knew it was going to be some other place tomorrow.

No borders no boundaries.

Crossing the boundaries of your place diminishes the constraints within.

Being in one place you care about reputation as you need to be a good citizen of the town.

Being a nomad you act like a good guest. It makes you more courageous.

You make decisions you would have never taken otherwise.

You talk to people you wouldn’t have talked to otherwise.

You open up.

Intuitions

What\’s your next destination? Where are you going next?

When you are going on a vacation, you can define your goals and the experience you expect to have.

Being a digital nomad, you rely on your gut feeling and intuition.

Intuitions are the intention of the divine.

Many times in my journey I had to decide between towns and the middle of the night on the middle of the road.

Places which barely exist on Google Maps.

Slept in temples because there were no hotels in the town, and found myself on steep inclining roads filled with filth and impossible to climb my 1986 Royal Enfield.

I lived life.

In the middle of such chaos, there was no way the mind would escape to he fantasies of past and future.

At times it felt it would be impossible to find any solution for the physical and mental challenges.

I was compelled to stop not pause, and look inside for insight.

In all the chaos and blunder, the unmoving message sends a message.

To go right and make it right.

If you trust these intuitions and follow your heart you are bound to arrive at a destination.

People

People are beautiful.

I met so many pure souls on my journey.

It can be spending a night at a campfire where Elephants would come by.

Or a chit-chat in a beautiful tea garden.

People and the way they live their life is beautiful.

Drama.

Being a digital nomad you learn to understand people.

It promotes acceptance and you become more compassionate and embrace inclusiveness.

Belonging

You might have a place to fall back.

You might have a town you call your home.

You might have a place where you can say you belong.

But visiting other places with amplify your love for your place in a multitude.

I am still out of my town Kolhapur.

The more time I spend away, the more my love grows for the place.

Beauty appreciated.
